11 Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcut (Hotkeys) Most Used

Windows 7 come up with a lot of new hotkeys that will help you improve working rate. Although in Windows 7, mouse is still essential, with lots of new feature which takes advantage of mouse gesture, such as Aero Snap, Aero Peek, Aero Shake and etc.However, some users still prefer to use keyboard to use the Windows operating system.

Here’s some hotkeys I made up for some of the handy new hotkey combinations, many of which I’ve become quite dependent on!

  1. Windows + Home: minimize all windows, exclude active windows.
  2. Windows + 0, 1, 2,... or 9: Start the program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number. If the program is already running, switch to that program.
  3. Windows + Alt + 0, 1, 2... 9: open jump list of the program pinned to the taskbar.
  4. Windows + Shift + 0, 1, 2... 9: open a new windows of the programm pinned to the taskbar.
  5. Windows + Tab: see the desktop, all windows become transparency.
  6. Windows + Up/Down: Maximize/Restore or Minimize Windows
  7. Windows + Left/Right: move active Windows to left/right of screen.
  8. Windows + T: focus the fist taskbar entry, press again will move around all taskbar. 
  9. Windows + Shift + Left/Right: Jump to Left/Right monitor.
  10. Windows + G: Bring gadgets to the top of the Z-order
  11. Alt + P: Show/Hide preview pane
