Create Sub Domain With Your Name at Bing

How do you think about my subdomain at Bing: http://vtechtip.bing.com? When go to this page, you can use and search Bing as original Bing page. Do you want to create a similar sub domain?

Create Sub Domain With Your Name at Bing
Search With Bing At Domain http://vtechtip.bing.com

I don't know this is a trick or a feature of Bing for user. But it's easy to create a Bing sub domain with your name. Just replace vtechtip at http://vtechtip.bing.com by your name, example: http://yourname.bing.com.
Wow, use a search engine with your name at domain, is it great? Why don't create a page for you and start search with it now :) I think with this, Microsoft maybe get a lot of users for Bing Search Engine.

Google Public DNS - Free DNS Service

As you know, Open DNS is a free DNS service help you surf the web faster and more security. Yesterday, Google introduced a new their service, this is Google Public DNS. Which will be believed that help you:

  • Provide end users with an alternative to their current DNS service. Google Public DNS takes some new approaches that we believe offer more valid results, increased security, and, in most cases, better performance.
  • Help reduce the load on ISPs' DNS servers. By taking advantage of our global data-center and caching infrastructure, we can directly serve large numbers of user requests without having to query other DNS resolvers.
  • Help make the web faster and more secure. We are launching this experimental service to test some new ways to approach DNS-related challenges. We hope to share what we learn with developers of DNS resolvers and the broader web community and get their feedback.
First, you need to change network configuration of window to use Google Public DNS:
     - With Windows XP: go to Control Panel --> Network and Internet Connections --> Network Connections, right click to Local Area Network and choose Properties. In list This connection uses the following items, choose Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) and click Properties. In new windows, you click Use the folloing DNS server addresses, and at Prefered DNS Server, fill 8.8.8.8, and at Alternate DNS Server fill 8.8.4.4. Then OK to finish.
     - With Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to Control Panel --> Network and Internet --> Network and Sharing Center > View Status > Properties and then configure as XP.

Yahoo! Messenger 10 Final (10.0.0.1102) - Offline Installer + Portable for Download

The Yahoo Messenger team has released the long awaited Yahoo Messenger 10 final. The popular instant messenger was previously only available in beta versions with many of them leaked and not officially released by Yahoo. The new Yahoo Messenger 10 can be downloaded directly from the Yahoo Messenger website where it is available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh, mobile devices, Apple’s iPhone and as a web version that does not require installation at all.

Several new and improved features have been added to Yahoo Messenger 10. The following list contains some of these features. It has been directly taken from the blog post that announced the final version of Yahoo Messenger 10:

High-quality video calls
We’ve completely redesigned our 1:1 webcam feature (under the hood too). Now you can make a high-quality video call to a friend with synched audio, right in the IM window. Features include the ability to swap video windows, position the video windows side-by-side, mute the call or place it on hold. You can even go full-screen with your video call. To get started, click the new “Video Call” button in the IM window (your friend also needs to be on Yahoo! Messenger 10). New “Y! Updates” view of your contact list
People are busy these days, doing all sorts of interesting things online. To help you keep up with your friends, we added an alternate view of your contact list that shows a real-time stream of their updates, including Messenger status message changes. If they’ve opted-in to share their updates via Yahoo!, you’ll be able to see what they’re saying on Twitter, reading on Yahoo! Buzz, listening to on last.fm, and more.
We also added additional features for how and when you see your friends’ updates. When a new update comes in, a “toast” alert will pop up in the lower right corner of your screen. If you want to disable these, go to Messenger > Preferences > Yahoo! Updates. You can turn alerts on and off and even update preferences by contact or by type of update.

Yahoo! Messenger 10 Final (10.0.0.1102) - Offline Installer + Portable for Download

Find more to chat about
Within the new “Yahoo! Updates” view, you’re sure to find more to talk about with your friends. To make it easy, we added a hover menu that lets you quickly IM a friend about their update. When you do, the update appears inline in the conversation window, so when you start your IM with “I can’t believe you like this song!”, your friend will know what you’re talking about. Note that your friend needs to also be on Yahoo! Messenger 10 to see the update inline.
Change your language easily
If you use the U.S. version but wish it could be in your local language, you’re in luck. When you start up Yahoo! Messenger 10, you’ll notice a new language menu on the sign-in screen. Choose from 16 different languages and the buttons, menus and various parts of the interface will change to that language. If you’re already signed in, you can also change your language under Messenger > Preferences > Language (you’ll have to restart Yahoo! Messenger for it to take effect).

The default Yahoo Messenger 10 download will download a so called web installer which is a small setup file that will try to download the remaining data from the Internet during installation. This requires an active Internet connection. Users who prefer a direct download can download the Yahoo Messenger 10 Windows offline installer here. It is either way recommended to do a custom installation in the instant messenger itself to avoid installing components like the Yahoo Toolbar to the computer system.

New StumbleUpon v4 - Simpler, Searchable and More Social

StumbleUpon is a social bookmarking that help you bookmark all websites include thumbnail. With toolbar for browser, you can easily save and share any site that you visited. Today, StumbleUpon is now completely switching from old to new verison, StumbleUpon v4. New StumbleUpon has a new interface, which is believed that simpler, searchable and more social.

New StumbleUpon v4 - Simpler, Searchable and More Social
StumbleUpon Homepage
New StumbleUpon v4 - Simpler, Searchable and More Social
StumbleUpon Activity
What New?

Simpler:

Our goal was to make the site and the StumbleUpon Add-on easier to use and more intuitive for visitors and users.  We’ve improved site navigation, and navigation within User Profiles, to make it easier and faster to find what you’re looking for. We also think it just looks a lot nicer. smile

Searchable:

We’ve enhanced Search using community ratings and reviews.   Now you’ll have the ability to Search either within your favorites, your friend’s favorites, or the entire site to discover more specific pages on a topic.

More Social:

We’ve made it easier for you to find the people you know (your real-life friends) on StumbleUpon and have made it possible to find people who have similar interests that live close to you.  Plus, you can get nearly real-time updates from the people you are subscribed to, served in your Recent Activity page (formerly What’s New).

To access the new StumbleUpon from your current Profile page, go to http://www.stumbleupon.com/trynow/. We are planning to permanently transition to the new StumbleUpon in the next month and will send more gentle reminders as the date draws near.

Relationship:

There are 3 types of relationships in the New StumbleUpon:

  1. Your Subscriptions = people that you subscribed to. They are people whose content you are interested in (much like a subscription to a magazine). Their favorites and reviews will populate your “Recent Activity” page. Their content will influence the quality of your stumbles.
  2. Your Subscribers = people who subscribed to you. They like your content and want to see things you discover and review on their “Recent Activity” page. Your favorites will influence their stumbles.
  3. Mutual Subscribers = is when you are subscribed to another Stumbler and that Stumbler is subscribed to you. You both see a value in being connected to each other.
    • Mutual Subscribers who can “Direct Share” = are mutual subscribers who have mutually opted in to share sites with each other from their toolbars (formerly known as “Friends”.) In order to start sharing, both parties need to have checked the option to “accept shares from the toolbar”.  Mutual subscribers who can direct share with each other are labeled with a dual-share icon:
    • directshare.png

Useful tips for switching over to the new social relationship system:

  • Your existing Subscriptions and Subscribers from V3 will remain the same in V4.
  • Use the transition period to bring your contacts up-to-date. To help you with this transition, we added a temporary sub-section to the Subscriptions category. Go to Stumblers > Subscriptions and scroll down to “Friends who are not subscriptions.” Reassess this list of friends: do you want to continue to share sites with them?
    • If you want to direct-share, simply subscribe to them and refresh the page. The Friends you subscribed to will be moved to the Subscriptions section.
    • If you no longer want to direct-share, subscribe to them, uncheck the box for direct-share and then unsubscribe to them.
    • If you like their content, but don’t want to direct-share, subscribe to them, and uncheck the box for direct-share.
  • In order to direct-share in V4 with another Stumbler, you must both be subscribed to each other and both opt in to accept shares to your toolbar.

101 Ways to Make Money from Your Blog

If you’re a well-loved blogger, there’s a good chance that your readers would like to show their support. Give them what they want and make money by taking advantage of merchandising opportunities.
1. CafePress.com: This perennial favorite makes it easy for you to put your blog’s logo on shirts, bags, coasters and other items.
2. Self-Published Books: If your readers like your content, they may want to have something they can own offline or even share with friends. Create a book with self-publishing services like Lulu, and you’ll earn profits even without a huge book deal.
3. Printfection.com: Design and sell custom products with Printfection.com.
4. Hard-Copy Content: Create a CD-ROM “book” with cleanly organized content that can be accessed offline. You can take things a step further and sell subscriptions for future updates to the system.
5. GoodStorm: Like CafePress.com and Printfection.com, GoodStorm is a nice way to create and sell your own merchandising products.
Paid Content
Paid content is a good monetization method for bloggers that regularly offer useful information — especially if this information helps others make money. As with all monetization methods, it’s all in the approach. Don’t create misleading previews of content that requires a membership to read in full. Rather, devote special sections of premium content to readers who are willing to pay for the information.
6. E-Books: Whether it’s a compilation of your best tips or a new idea altogether, an e-book is a good, reader-friendly way to package content.
7. White Papers: Like e-books, white papers are a smaller, more technical version of your content.
8. Phone Calls: Sell one-on-one phone calls for advice and other consulting through Ether.
9. Miniguides: If you’ve just run a particularly helpful series, package it up into a miniguide.
10. Tutorials: Gather your knowledge and compile it into a tutorial that relies upon your expert advice.
11. Members-Only Sections: Whether you’re providing access to published items or just ad-free content, make sure you’re delivering a product that your readers are willing to pay for.
12. TextMarks Inc.: Charge readers to get text-message alerts about your content through TextMarks.
13. X-Events: Project physical events online and create revenue by charging admission, attracting sponsors and selling subscriptions to future events.
14. Podcasts: Podcasts may be a novelty to your readers, and many of them are probably willing to pay to be able to hear your entries on the go.
15. Videos: Like podcasts, videos are value-added extras that readers may be willing to pay for.
Begging
It never hurts to be straightforward about earning money from your blog. Ask your readers for donations — in a polite way, of course — and the ones that truly value your work will likely be more than willing to help support your ongoing success.

101 Ways to Make Money from Your Blog

16. PayPal: PayPal’s system allows you to place a donation button on your blog.
17. Amazon Honor System: Like PayPal, the Amazon Honor System allows you to accept online donations.
18. Mailed Checks: Of course, good old U.S. mail works just as well. Provide readers with a P.O. box that they can mail donations to.
19. Buy me a beer/coffee: Asking for donations in the form of a beer, coffee or other special item allows readers to reward you with something tangible.
20. Amazon Wish List: Although it’s not cash, asking readers to buy you items from your Amazon Wish List will save you from having to buy things yourself. Again, they’ll feel more rewarded knowing they’ve given you something tangible.
Opportunities
Becoming a successful blogger means becoming an expert in your field. You can use this status to earn money through opportunities, while increasing the value you provide to your readers.
21. Writing Gigs: By showcasing your writing talents on your blog, you’ve provided a living resume to any blog network or news site that might be interested in hiring you.
22. Seminars and Workshops: As an expert, you can invite readers to visit with you in person for seminars and workshops.
23. Bloggers for Hire: Get yourself hired to blog for a corporate Web site.

29. Consulting: If you’ve found success as a blogger, you probably have a lot of knowledge to share about mastering both the Internet and your field. Freelance as a consultant and get paid for sharing what you know.

31. Book: A number of popular bloggers have landed lucrative book deals.
32. Interviews: Share your knowledge on a new medium and go on radio or TV interviews.

Ads
Ads are generally the bread and butter of bloggers. However, they’re also the most likely to irritate readers. To keep a happy balance, focus on relevance and make sure that you’re not overloading your blog with too many ads. It should go without saying that you should absolutely not use every single one of these ad programs, either. Rather, pick a handful and rotate them until you find what that works the best for your blog.

MediaFire Upgraded To 3.0 With More Features

Few months ago, I introduced MediaFire as a best Free Files Storage services. Although MediaFire is very good for Free User, but I though the advantage for Premium User is pretty low. But now, with version 3.0, premium user can get more and more great services!

What's News?

New Look / Updated Features

If you're already a free MediaFire user or MediaPro account holder, you'll notice that you're automatically brought to your My FIles page upon logging in. This decision reflects our realization that the My Files is your primary point of interaction for most of MediaFire's most popular features.

Following with this new focus you can now upload files directly from your My Files page into whichever folder you're currently viewing.

Completely Redesigned Uploader

Not only did we just add the ability to upload to folders directly from your My Files page, we've also completely redesigned the uploader to be faster and easier to use.

You still get the same great features and functionality on the new uploader, but you should also find that the new uploader performs more smoothly - especially for your larger file uploads, which we have just increased limitations on: Free MediaFire account holders can now upload files up to 200MB in size, while MediaPro users can still upload files up to 2GB!

Embedable Dropbox Uploader

If you're a MediaPro account holder, now you can embed shared folders in the form of dropboxes on your favorite websites.

With our new uploader, you can place a dropbox on any website that supports javascript, thus allowing your visitors to upload files into a folder you specify from your My Files page. Dropboxes have fully customizable color schemes and security options.

Bulk Download

Downloading multiple files one at a time can be a hassle, but it's a thing of the past once you upgrade to a MediaPro account.

You can now download multiple files and folders with one click from your My Files page, a shared folder, or directly from a file download page.

Brandable My Files page and Shared Folders

With Silver and Bronze MediaPro accounts, you can add your own custom header to your My Files and shared files pages, allowing you to show your creativity or expand your branding to those who view files hosted in your MediaFire account.

Upload any image and customize the color scheme of your header for a custom look to showcase to your downloaders.

RSS Feeds

Let your downloaders stay informed with the latest file additions to your shared folders with a simple RSS feed of files uploaded to your account.

With an RSS reader such as Google Reader, your downloaders can keep tabs on your shared folders to stay on top of your latest uploads giving you one more flexible way to distribute your files.

New Download and Image pages

We've redesigned our download and image pages to be cleaner, more efficient, and to have a greater focus on the content rather than the interface.

You'll immediately notice that the interface is dramatically simplified making the download link more prominent on download pages and image navigation on the image pages more accessible.

In my opinion, MediaFire 3.0 has no more great advantage for free version. Anyway, free account from MediaFire is still and always good. You can download and upload unlimited with max speed without any price doubt.
